01 / The work behind the work

The subject changed.
The problem mostly hasn’t.

I have worked around machines, production lines, maintenance shutdowns, asphalt plants and people trying to keep things running. Failure was rarely one dramatic event. More often it was missing context, weak handovers, unclear responsibility and systems that did not match how people actually worked.

I learned software and AI because I could start building some of the systems I wished had existed around me.

02 / Before the software

Experience before abstraction

2018—2022

Maintenance & fitting

Paper mills, asphalt, recycling and concrete: bearings, rolls, pneumatics, pipework, shutdowns, permits, customers and teams.

2022—2023

Asphalt operations

Plant, materials, weighbridge, shovel and production — learning how inputs, timing and decisions meet in a live operation.

2023—2024

Chemical process

Mixing, production procedures, quality control and practical troubleshooting.

2024—2025

Asphalt supervision

Production, quality, throughput, coordination and responsibility.

2025—now

Contracting, operations & building

Bringing practical industrial experience into software, AI and Virtus Nemeton.

I did not learn operations from a business book. I worked inside them.

Operations → automation → software → AI → governed systems

Around 2021, I became interested in what modern software could actually do. I learned the same way I learned much of the rest of my working life: by taking things apart, trying them, breaking them, fixing them and applying them to problems I already understood.

07 / What I mean by success

I do not have a Mars plan.
I want some land, a workshop, enough freedom to keep learning and building, and enough credibility to try useful things with the institutions and communities around me.

Scale is useful only where it increases what we can actually do.
